The album features around 70 photographs of Warsaw from the first post-war decade, both the iconic and the previously unpublished ones. The authors are eminent Polish press photographers, including Jerzy Baranowski, Stanisław Dąbrowiecki, Karol Szczeciński, Zdzisław Wdowiński. Their photographs tell a fascinating tale of people, Warsaw inhabitants – a group portrait depicting those who came back to their destroyed city and those who settled here after the war. Both groups had an astonishing drive to declutter and rebuild their city, trying to carry on living their ordinary lives in extraordinary circumstances. The photographs are part of Polish Press Agency photo library. The album contains both Polish and English texts.
