Inside Poland is an album of over 100 photographs created by Marian Schmidt, a distinguished photographer and teacher. There are photographs taken during Schmidt‘s travels around Poland from mid 1970s, several dozen contemporary photos of Poland, as well as sublime and timeless photographs from the artist’s family archive. Black and white images evoke the PRL (Polish People’s Republic) atmosphere and show the changes that this country has experienced in the past decades. Yet, these are not typical documentary photographs. While capturing the reality of that time, the author tells his own tale about life and the human condition. It is photography filled with profound humanism.
