“We organize a festival about women, heroines of the everyday, heroines known and unknown, forgotten or passed over in silence. We organize the Heroine Festival because women plainly deserve it,” explains Katarzyna Puchalska, director of the History Meeting House. In 2025, our primary focus is the motto “Women Role Models ”. We aim to redefine authority and influence in the 21st century. We’re proposing a new roadmap for role models: women who don’t always hold titles, but have influence; they don’t always stand on stages, but they move the world; they’re not always loud, but their presence brings about change. We want to build social trust in the female voice and the female perspective. This year’s festival will feature a concert by Polish jazz singer Urszula Dudziak, an open photo shoot with photographer Lidia Popiel, journaling workshops with Polish writer Karolina Sulej, an exhibition by Maryna Tomaszewska and Joanna Warsza, as well as panel discussions, performative readings, book premieres, and film screenings.
