Romuald Broniarek dreamed of becoming a professional photographer. He had the talent, the eye, and the artistic sensibility.

An “atomic bust,” an “après-ski striptease,” “men on mountain tops and peaks of elegance,” and instead of the playboy, the “polboy”: these were all facets of the new type of Polish woman and man—young, worldly and thoroughly modern—promoted by Ty i Ja during the 1960s.

Czesław Olszewski (1894-1969) was one of the most outstanding Polish architectural photographers, co-founder of the Syndicate of Photojournalists of the Republic of Poland, and lecturer in photography. He captured the modernisation of the Polish state in the 1930s and its reconstruction after World War II on several thousand negatives.
