I. Definitions

Controller – History Meeting House (Dom Spotkań z Historią, or DSH), with its registered office in Warsaw at Karowa 20 Street, 00-324, entered in the register of local government cultural institutions maintained by the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw under number IKD/6/06, Tax Identification Number (NIP) 525 2360717.

Data Protection Officer (DPO) – The Controller has appointed a Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted at the following email address: a.markiewicz@dsh.waw.pl

Cookies – small text files sent by the website www.umw.edu.pl, which the User is using, to the User’s device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.).

Website – means the website or application through which the Controller operates the service, including:

In connection with the processing of data by History Meeting House every person whose data we process has the right to:

  • request access to their data,
  • obtain a copy of their data,
  • rectify their data,
  • transfer their data
  • request the erasure or restriction of the processing of their data,
  • object to the processing of their data,
  • file a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
  1. Data Recipients

Data recipients are entities authorized to receive personal data pursuant to legal provisions or agreements concluded with the Controller, including entities providing IT services to the Controller.

All entities to which we entrust the processing of personal data undertake to secure such data by applying appropriate technical and organizational measures ensuring a level of security appropriate to the risk associated with their processing, as referred to in Article 32 of the GDPR.

Due to the use of Google services and social media platforms, information about the User collected via cookies may be transferred to the United States of America (USA) as it is stored on U.S. servers. At the same time, we would like to inform you that Google and social media providers have joined the Privacy Shield program and thus guarantee the appropriate level of personal data protection required by European regulations.

III. Cookies

The website uses cookies so that we can tailor it to Users’ needs, as well as for statistical purposes. Cookies are small text files sent to and stored on Users’ devices (e.g., computers, tablets, smartphones) that can be read by our IT system (first-party cookies) or by third-party IT systems (third-party cookies).

  • Social media cookies:

Our website also uses plugins and other social media tools provided by social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

When you view our website, which contains such a plugin, the browser you are using will establish a direct connection with the servers of the social media platform operators. The plugin’s content is then transmitted by the respective social media platform provider directly to your browser and integrated into the displayed page. As a result, the social media providers receive information about which browser displayed our website, even if the User does not have a profile on the given social media platform or is not currently logged in to it. This information, along with the IP address, is sent by the User’s browser directly to the provider’s server (some servers are located in the U.S., and the data is stored there).

If the User is logged into one of the social media platforms, that service provider will be able to directly associate the User’s visit to our website with their profile on that social media platform and, for example, display specific content to them.

If the User uses a plugin – for example, by clicking the “Like” or “Share” button – the relevant information will also be sent directly to the respective service provider’s server and stored there.

Users can completely prevent plugins from loading on the website by using appropriate browser extensions, such as script blockers.

  • Video cookies:

Videos from YouTube are embedded on our website. For this purpose, YouTube cookies are used, which contain the User’s preferences and a click counter. These cookies are loaded only when a video is played. Therefore, if the User does not consent to their loading, they should not play the videos available on the website.
