He went down in the history of Polish photography as the inventor of a camera known as the photo-revolver which changed the photographic game. Brandel was the first photographer to publish wall calendars. He was the forerunner of photography documenting diseases and medical conditions. He was also the first to receive the title of Imperial Photographer of the University of Warsaw. As a prize-winning photographer in European exhibitions, he joined the judging panel in the first important photography exhibition in 1901. Apart from Brandel’s photographs, the album contains an essay on the photographer, his life and career timeline collated with world events related to the development of photography.
